What's your Body Shape?
What’s your Body Shape?
We all dream of that perfect body shape. But the reality is, we may never achieve it. And ya know what? It’s o.k. As long as we are healthy in the one, we have, that is all that matters!
Your body shape is fine, as long as it is not obese and unhealthy. Being told that you are morbidly obese, diagnosed with Diabetes and having other health issues is not a body I or anyone wants to be in!
We are all beautiful on the outside, but not so much on the inside! Taking care of our bodies regardless of their shape is the most important. Losing over 100 pounds and watching my health-o-meter skyrocket back up to a healthy reading was just what I needed. Sure, I still wasn’t happy with my shape, or my appearance. But I soon realized that at any age we can achieve our health happiness goals. My health soon became more important than what my shape looked like.
Being over 50 and feeling great was all I needed. I realized I am never going to have that “twenties” body again, and I was o.k. with that! As long as I maintained a healthy weight for my age, my future was awesome! Having the energy, I thought I lost back again, was more than an incentive to keep going and getting me to my goal weight. It was becoming easier and easier. The better I felt, the more I wanted to reach that goal!
Reaching more goals than I originally anticipated was a win-win for me! My number one goal that I reached was being able to fit in an airplane seat comfortably without a seatbelt extender!
Flying out to see my daughter, anytime I wanted and being comfortable doing it was so freakin awesome! The joy I feel today is beyond words for reaching that goal! Other goals I have achieved may seem silly to some, but when you have been overweight for ¼ of your life, hitting those milestones is all worth it!
Never give up, no matter how old you are – you are only as old as you feel. Although I will not get my twenties body back, I sure do feel that way again now! Mentally I am feeling the best I have felt in a very long time! Physically – I am feeling healthier than I have been in a really long time!
Will I ever quit? Absolutely not! Once you feel better and look better and are more active, why would you ever want to go back to the way you were. 50 is the new 20 for me, and it can be for you too!
What milestones and goals do you want to reach? Keep moving forward and you will reach them too!
