Almond Sugar Cookies


Ingredients:

  • ½ Cup butter (1 stick), softened

  • ½ Cup sugar

  • 1 Egg

  • 1 tsp almond extract

  • 1 ½ Cups flour

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp salt


Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Cream the butter and sugar together until smooth. Add the egg and almond extract and mix all together.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda and salt together. Slowly add to the cookie mixture until well combined.

  3. Scoop into 1-inch balls and then flatten on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Sprinkle with white sugar if desired.

  4. Bake for 12-14 minutes and cool on racks.

Makes about 1 ½ dozen cookies.
