Chocolate Chip Kiss Cookies


Ingredients:

  • 1 bag (9 oz.) Hershey’s kisses

  • 1 Cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

  • 1/3 Cup granulated sugar

  • 1/3 Cup packed light brown sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 2 Cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 Cup semi-sweet mini baking chips

  • *optional* Chocolate drizzle (see recipe below)


Directions:

1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Remove wrappers from the kisses (a great job for the kiddies! – just make sure they don’t eat them all!)

2. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla in large bowl until well blended. Add flour to the butter mixture; blend until smooth. Stir in the mini baking chips.

3. Mold a scant tablespoon of dough around each Hershey’s kiss, covering completely. Shape into balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.

4. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until set. Cool slightly; transfer to a wire rack. Cool completely.

*optional* Chocolate Drizzle on top:

Place ¼ cup of the mini baking chips and 1 teaspoon shortening in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave at High for 30 seconds, or until chocolate is melted and smooth. Drizzle over the cooled cookies!

Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
