Monday, Monday, Oh No It's Monday Again...

Blog#21

Monday, Monday, Oh No It’s Monday again!

“Monday, Monday, so good to me; Monday morning, it was all I hoped it would be. Oh, Monday morning, Monday morning couldn't guarantee That Monday evening you would still be here with me. Monday, Monday, can't trust that day; Monday, Monday, sometimes it just turns out that way. Oh, Monday morning, you gave me no warning of what was to be.

Oh, Monday, Monday, how could you leave and not take me? Every other day, every other day Every other day of the week is fine, yeah. But whenever Monday comes - but whenever Monday comes You can find me crying all of the time. Monday, Monday, so good to me; Monday morning, it was all I hoped it would be. But Monday morning, Monday morning couldn't guarantee That Monday evening you would still be here with me. Every other day, every other day Every other day of the week is fine, yeah. But whenever Monday comes - but whenever Monday comes You can find me crying all of the time. Monday, Monday, can't trust that day; Monday, Monday, it just turns out that way. Oh, Monday, Monday, won't go away; Monday, Monday, it's here to stay. Oh Monday, Monday Oh, Monday, Monday”

These song lyrics "Monday, Monday" written by John Phillips in 1966 and recorded by the Mamas & the Papas, sure can put a damper on the changes you want to make every time Monday morning comes around!

How many Mondays have come and gone that you’ve said, “I’ll start next week”? Plenty I am sure! At least for me it took years of Mondays before I got my act together! Well Summer is here in a month, I still have another month before I can go swimming and put that bathing suit on. There is still time to lose a few more pounds, right?

This kind of self-talk is not kind. If we constantly keep waiting for another day to come and go, another week, another month, or another year, we will still be sitting on the couch every Monday morning with our face in our hands waiting for change. Waiting for courage, waiting for inspiration and motivation to get us moving towards reaching our self-control, our self-esteem, our self-goals.

What we all need, is a new direction! Take the first step. This will be your hardest step to take. Nothing important or life-changing was ever easy. Even hard steps have easy parts. The important thing is to just start.

Self-rating is a prelude to procrastination. You can avoid that fall and not rate your self-worth in the process. Wanting to lose weight and get back into shape can be a dreaded fear you’ve had for years. All you need to do every Monday morning is to pick one change that is the most important for you to make for that day. Then decide what makes the change you have in mind important to you.

Set a goal for yourself that is meaningful, obtainable and manageable. A goal that is a lifestyle change to achieve and keep for the rest of your life. If your goal is to lose weight and keep it off, a goal of losing a pound a week will be meaningful, obtainable and manageable. Be realistic in setting your goals. Remember why you decided to take this path, what you will gain from it and the direction you need to take for the change to happen.

We all have the “Yes, But” way of thinking from time to time. But this kind of procrastination means that “Yes” I am agreeing that self-change is important and with the “But” you have a reason why you can’t do it. “Yes”, I will, “But” not right now. Don’t put off tomorrow what you can start today.

But I am not ready is bull crap, and we all know that. Been there, done that so many times. Being ready is not and either-or concept. Make the choice of either doing or stewing.

The rewards you will attain from all your accomplishments and taking the “I can Do It” attitude will keep your Monday Blues from ever coming again!

Monday, Monday never looked so good! Let’s get started! Aren’t YOU SO READY!
