Spam and Cabbage in the CrockPot


  • 1 can low salt SPAM

  • 1 medium onion, diced small

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 T lemon juice

  • 1 Cup Organic Beef broth

  • 1 Head Green Cabbage

  • 3 Tablespoons softened Butter

  • salt, pepper

  • Vegetable Seasoning


  1. Chop the can of Spam and the onion into small chunks.

  2. Add to the crockpot, along with the garlic, lemon juice, beef broth, salt and pepper. Mix all together.

  3. Peel off the outer layer of the cabbage and slice the bottom so it is square.

  4. Completely cover the whole cabbage with the butter.

  5. Make a center whole in the crockpot and place in the center, with the ham and onion surrounding the cabbage.

  6. Sprinkle the vegetable seasoning over the cabbage.

  7. Cover and cook on High for 4 1/2 -5 hours. (Test after 4 hours with a knife to see if tender all the way through. If not, continue cooking for another 1/2 - 1 hour longer)

  8. Remove the cabbage and cut into sections. Serve each wedge with a spoonful of the ham and onion mixture and the broth.
