“Accountability”

ac·count·a·bil·i·ty

noun: accountability

  1. the fact or condition of being accountable; responsibility.

Something we all need to be accountable for is how we take care of our mental and physical well-beings. Are you accountable for everything you put into your mind and body? If you are, then you are on the right path! Congratulations!

But if you are not, time to stop procrastinating and getting back on track! Today is the day to start! Open that door and start a new chapter in your life!

Holding yourself accountable for everything that you do with your life can really be “life-changing”. Once you realize that only “you” can make changes to your health and well-being will the changes actually happen!

Of course, we all need advice and guidance on decisions we may make every now and then, but it is up to us to follow through with that advice and those decisions and hold ourselves accountable for them.

Look for ways to achieve those changes that can be easily attainable and permanent.

For example, if you are being treated by a doctor for say “Diabetes” – and you have to go for blood-work and follow-up appointments during your treatment, keep those appointments! This is just one way to hold yourself accountable by going for that blood-work and attending those follow-up appointments to keep you on track.

Don’t keep putting off your appointments because you think you will lose more weight first or have better blood sugar numbers if you wait a couple more months. Yes, you may achieve better numbers in a couple more months, but then again, (trust me, I have done this in the past), most likely you won’t and you didn’t hold yourself accountable, so you are stuck in the same exact place you were two months earlier. Don’t put it off!

Having a Doctors’ appointment, being part of a weekly group, making an exercise plan with a gym or weekly dates with your walking buddy are all great ways to hold yourself accountable on your health happiness journey.

Make a plan and stick with it for success!

You can “BE” anything!

Hold yourself accountable on your journey and you will reach the happy ending that you have always wanted for so long! It is achievable if you just put your mind in focus and hold on for the ride! It won’t be a straight path, and their will be plenty of bumps and turns along the way. But trust me when I tell you that, only you and no one else can hold you accountable for your own happiness.
