Don't Eat Your Stress!

So true! Been there so often, and the pounds just piled on from all of this unnecessary eating!

Eating to relieve your stress is just a temporary fix. It makes you feel better for a few minutes, and then later on you are stressed and depressed all over again because you ate your feelings with crap food, or you over indulged at meal time.

Stop this never ending losing streak! Deal with your feelings in a positive way that will actually help you and keep your weight loss on track!

Here are some helpful tips!

  • When you're in the throes of a stressful situation, going for a walk, getting fresh air, doing a quick guided meditation or calling a friend gets you out of that stressful space you are in very quickly.

  • If you are truly hungry and stressed, grab a quick healthy snack. Make-up some healthy snacks at the beginning of every week, and make them easy to grab when you are feeling hungry in between meals, or having a stressful moment.

  • Exercise, exercise, exercise! Spend some extra time at the gym. Take a quick walk around the block or your office building at break time. Get out of the house or office.

  • Listen to music!

  • Play with your pets! Go outside with your dog and throw that ball!

  • Take a quick nap! You will feel so refreshed and ready to continue on your day!

  • Laugh. Laugh at a funny YouTube video, or a joke among friends.

  • Find quiet. Sit in a quiet room, out of the way from the office noise.

  • Take a quick drive.

  • Read a book.

  • Go and treat yourself to a massage, manicure or pedicure.

  • Draw or color! There are so many “Adult” Coloring books now – pick up one and find a few minutes to just sit and color or draw!

  • Grab a cup of tea or coffee and just sip and relax.

  • Find some intimacy! Go have sex with your spouse or significant other – the benefits are instantly obtained!

  • Turn off the boob tube, your phone, your tablet and your computer and just socially distance yourself from all of these distractions. Relax, relax, relax.

Don't be afraid to try new things! Try new experiences. Anything to distract yourself from eating unhealthy crap when you are stressed, bored or even depressed.

All of these tips can help you in so many ways to a healthier, happier you!

Reach for your health happiness and don't stress eat!
