Pork Roast Sliders


Ingredients:

  • 4 lbs. Pork Roast

  • 8 oz. sharp cheddar cheese block, shredded

  • 1 large sweet onion

  • 2 T butter

  • BBQ Sauce (make your own! – see my recipe under the seasonings & sauces tab)

  • Rolls

Seasoning for Pork:

1 T salt, 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder. Mix all together.


Directions:

  1. Mix all the spices together and rub all over the pork roast. Place in a crock pot on low for 6-7 hours.

  2. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.

  3. Chop the sweet onion and sauté in the butter until tender and browned. Set aside.

  4. To assemble the sliders, remove the roast from the crock pot and slice into small, thin pieces, or shred with two forks.

  5. Layer the pork pieces on top of your Roll, then smother with onions and top with the shredded cheddar cheese. Once you have them all assembled, place on a cookie sheet, along with the tops (placed on the cookie sheet separately from the slider) and bake in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is all melted.

Top with your favorite BBQ sauce and add the tops. Serve with a side of coleslaw (if desired).
